Center for Distance and Online Learning Welcomes Salvatore Chiera

 

Meet our new Online Student Support Specialist!

The Center for Distance and Online Learning is pleased to welcome our new Online Student Support Specialist, Salvatore (Sal) Chiera. He will be answering the 518-629-7070 DL help phone line and dlhelp@hvcc.edu emails, providing support to students and faculty for their web enhanced and online courses in Blackboard, and creating support documentation, among other duties. Sal started with us in December and has hit the ground running!

Sal has an M.S. in Education, Educational Technology Specialist, and previously worked at the Open SUNY Support Services Help Desk as a Help Desk Analyst providing Blackboard technical support for students, faculty, and staff from over 35 SUNY schools.

He is also a fun colleague with an interest in team trivia, video games, watching/going to the movies, and is an avid bowler (currently holds an average of 220).
